PLANS 2008-2009: The Blog Entry

Sat May 3, 2008, 7:59 PM
  • Mood: Joy
NOTE: This is quite long.

During course card distribution, Bea and I suddenly landed positions sa Executive Board of KinoEye (CSB's film org) - being the President and VP-Internal Affairs respectively. So we're required to attend teh PLANS (Planning for Leaders and Artists for Networking and Synergy)...and it's in ANTIPOLO, yes, ANTIPOLO~!

It was supposed to be set sa Tagaytay...but NO. Antipolo...:) Villa Cristina Resort whatever.

Anywho, April 30:

Though I live near the resort, I had to go to CSB for teh attendance/pink form submission whatever. So there. I met Andy (Bea's cousin) in teh airport. Then we loaded teh bus. Bea came quite late (so no cheeseburger for me...LOL XD). There's STRAINS person Biggie who was very hyper and made this "interesting" connection between me, Andy and Bea. Left Benilde at around 8:10 am...then arrived sa place at around 9:30 (that's fast~!)

Then we had our watches synchronized. Thus, the "Norie time" then I was in the big room in 401 with JV, Nic and Gelo of MediaMax...and Andy. But we had Miss Lanie change our room number- 406. Thus, I was with Andy and Tom sa room.

Boring talks about Lasallian leadership and the National stuff. Then photoshoots at the Basilica and teh "ruins" place which were really CREEPY at night. We're supposed to do a horror movie there but then, we had no story during that time.

After some photoshoots with teh COMLINK people using Bea's DSLR, we retired. Tom and I started brainstorming sa room about the movie...then, we came up with a good plot.

Thursday, May 1:

This was tiring. Many physical activities. First, we were grouped into 5. KinoEye joined Optic View, Media Max and Music Network thus, the formation of the "Humba" group...then there are other 4 groups.

Activities focused more on team building - chair activity, placemat activity and many others.

Then we're blindfolded...and were "toured" around the resort ala Amazing Race...led by JV of Media Max. Bea, Kelly (Optic View) and Kai (Optic View) were the only girls sa group. In front of me was Bea and behind me was Nic of Media Max.

A typical scene during the "tour":

Bea: "Poch, step."
Poch: *steps* then says to Nic: "Nic, may step"
*group stops*
Nic: *wonders* "Pano mo nalaman?"
Poch: *tries to make an excuse since I can see the floor with my eyes*: "Nakita ko eh..."
Bea: *stops me*
Poch: *corrects the excuse*

After 1 hour and 30 minutes, we landed on 2nd place.

Curfew time was at 10...then talks were done by 10...so no filming :|

Friday, May 2:

More physical activities with the Humba group. Swimming activities like "follow the path of the rings" and "find these stuff in the pool while wearing blindfolds" - we did good in the pool stuff. Then processing.

Then, we're on our own. We were asked to group according to orgs. Then we were asked to do some activities and stuff.

We did a retreat-ish type of activity where we lighted candles and told some stuff.

Then, Solidarity Night hosted by Pauline and Paolo. PARTY. Sir Ferdi was TOOOOOOOOOOOOO hyper. Presentations were made by each group...then, the Humba group won first place after doing some impersonations of Miss Norie and Biggie.

Then, Kino People went out 12:00am since curfew was extended until 1am due to aircon problems in the first floor rooms.

Now, Kino People did photoshoots...then Andy left us. THEN BROWNOUT~! Tom, Bea and I went out to do photoshooting and some talking. Then, Bea left at 1am. Since electricity's back.

Earlier, May 3:

Andy gained popularity since he acted as "Miss Norie" in our presentation. So during breakfast, he was known as: "Miss Norie". Even the real Ms. Norie liked him that much that she's asking Andy's assistance in some stuff.

Then the real Ms. Norie discussed stuff about proposing programs and other stuff which was quite scary for many of us.

Then, some rituals about commitment...then the people left me at around 4pm since my dad's gonna pick me up.

FUN. TIRING. FUN.

For the students of De la Salle - Col...CSB, term break started last April 20.

Classes start on the 21st day of May...and it's only April 23.

So, the things I've done so far:

a. Bea and I finished "figuring out" the E.B. (Executive Board) positions for KinoEye (CSB's Film Org) since Bea's the new president...and me, her assistant.

b. I started to discover the beauty of Adobe After Effects and made this [link] new header for Blah Blah Films Ltd.

c. I recently had the guts to discover what Adobe Encore DVD had to offer so I basically experimented and made two DVDs:

First DVD: 1121 - Our PHILOMA Project

It has a menu and Tagalog subtitles. Yes, I had too much free time.

Second DVD: Video Collection

It's actually a collection of the videos made during the whole frosh year in CSB. The videos are not solely mine...There are around 3 videos wherein I only edited/wrote.

I made this so that I can delete the videos in my Hard Disk and also for my personal collection. =))

Videos included:

- Rise of Nationalism (History) - with :iconxshin-yux:, :iconporcelained:, Kim, Chira, Dianne, Bea and Ken (I was co-writer - Taco Bell place mat...and I co-edited)
- Kasaysayan ng Wika (Filip11) - with :iconmipporapo:
- Prayer for Filip12 - with Kristan (I did everything...except acting)
- Brokeback Mountain 2 Music video (Filip12) - with Rey and Kristan (I did everything except singing and acting)
- INTECOM animation - with the fellow abandoned. Animations by :iconscratchthesky:. (I video-ized the animations)

d. I...suddenly...started vectoring. (well, sort of)
CLICK THIS : [link]

Thanks to the VideoCoPilot stuff for the texture.

The things I need to do:
a. Submit contract to Zach (KinoEye person) and attend an assembly of incoming org officers.

b. Go to ANTIPOLO, yes ANTIPOLO for the PLANS whatever...CSB org officers' whatever daw.

c. Do a DVD (complete with menus and subs) of Buhay Teenage Smoker (INSOCIO Documentary), again for my personal collection.

The thing I want to do:

So, Bea and I and some other CSB org officers are in ANTIPOLO from the 30th up to May 3. In case we come up with a script, we're gonna make a movie during our free time dun sa PLANS whatever: 1121 Sequel. =))

We have a story na. No script yet. =)) sana magawa.

Sidetrip in Binondo

All of a sudden, I found myself in Binondo earlier this evening.

As soon as the bell rang 4:10pm, Ema told Rey, Kristan and me the current condition of Mary - which was really shocking...

Rey really panicked...I mean, really panicked. He totally forgot the existence of *you-know-who* when he found out the really horrible news.

So okay, Ema brought the three of us to Binondo which was a jeepney ride away from CSB...and during this, I found out that jeepney rides are now expensive - considering we're students.

After talking alot about crap in the middle of the traffic, we found ourselves in the streets of Binondo (Ema's home).

Basically, we bought fruits and flowers (which are quite expensive) for Mary. I found out that Ema was a good companion when it comes to these kinds of things kasi magaling siya sa tawaran...yes, parang nasa Divisoria lang kami...

Example:

Ema (pointing to some fruit): Magkano 'to?
Vendor: fifty lang...
Ema (furious): 50?! Sa Divisoria, sampung piso lang 'yan eh!

We were done shopping for fruits and flowers - after ten minutes of scouting for prices - we were like Winnie Cordero in Umagang Kay Ganda. Spent almost 300 bucks for everything.

From Binondo, we took a jeepney ride from Quintin Paredes road (the one beside Ongpin, near Binondo Church) up to Abad Santos Ave.

We went to a cool Chinese Hospital and after going up and down the elevator and asking tons of employees, we managed to locate the Operating room in the thirteenth floor of the building beside the main hospital...

When we came, lights flickered, operating room was locked (duh!) and the guard was nowhere to be found.

Out of randomosity, this woman in pink came out and pointed out directions...Ema asked the woman...it was Mary's mom. We asked for Mary's current condition (and some other information which would not be discussed in this post). We left the fruits and flowers and left.

When we were going to the hospital, i saw this Siomai stand (the 2-peso each version in the bicycle) which brought back HS memories...when we came out, Ema asked us: "gusto nio ng siomai?"...YAY! The last time I ate those things was when I was in third year...since nung fourth year, the siomai bicycle in Shaw Boulevard mysteriously disappeared.

Basically spent 20 bucks for 10 pieces of street siomai. Satisfaction, seriously. Next stop, the stand beside the Siomai bike. The person sold tokwa, hotdog, quail eggs plus the ever famous calamares. What really made me wonder was the tokwa...it was the first time i saw a street tokwa...so, i bought 5 since it was a peso each.

Ema then brought us to this fishball stand which sold fish ball for 50 cents...yes, meron pang fish ball na 50 cents...since ung sa Mandaluyong, 3 pieces for 2 pesos! I ate 10 pieces. Shit, I felt I was this kid again who used to eat street foods in front of Lourdes!

We can't find a jeep going back to Binondo...so we walked! Ang cool nung experience.

I saw a Chinese-charactered Starbucks, McDonald's, Netopia (I felt I was back in Hong Kong).

Ema then left us since she's living and breathing in Binondo and we ended our sidetrip as we went down Vito Cruz LRT station - back to reality.

What started to be a visit to a classmate turned out to be quite an adventure.

I love it.
